Beaphar Timothy Hay is a tasty and healthy type of hay for rabbits and rodents such as guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus. Timothy hay has a high crude fiber content which is good for teeth and digestion. In addition, it has a favorable calcium / phosphorus ratio. Timothy hay therefore fits in a balanced diet. Most hays are alfalfa based and contain quite a lot of calcium. In terms of composition, timothy hay is best suited for rabbits and rodents. Timothy hay contains a high fiber content (32%) and a low calcium content (+/- 0 5%). This favorable calcium-phosphorus ratio prevents, among other things, bladder problems in guinea pigs and rabbits.
